  • Q: What does SEnginx mean?
A: SEnginx stands for Security-Enhanced nginx.
  • Q: What is the realtionship among SEnginx, nginx and Tengine?
A: SEnginx is new opensource project based on the original nginx. It has all the features from original nginx and has been improved in reverse proxy/load balacning and security features.
Tengine is an excellent, powerful web server developed by taobao based on nginx. SEnginx and Tengine are both based on nginx, but Tengine focuses on the web server related features, and SEnginx focuses on the reverse proxy and security features. SEnginx will also use some features from Tengine to improve the reverse proxy functionality, we highly appericiate Tengine development team for their efforts and contribution.
